CARE SOURCE & ATFC
We are pleased to announce that we have just entered into an agreement with CareSource, a Medicare Advantage
Health Maintenance Organization.  If you are a CareSource member, please contact Jo, Alan, or Naomi so that your
benefit may begin. Care Source will pay $24.50/month  per person towards  fitness or combo memberships (does
not apply to Tennis-only memberships). ATFC will bill CareSource for its portion of your dues. (Examples:  Single
Fitness member pays $24.50 and CareSource pays $24.50; Couple Fitness (both CareSource members):  Care
Source pays $24.50  each for a total of $49. and members pay a total of $34 to add up to the $83 Couple Fitness
membership; Single combo dues are $90 - CareSource pays $24.50 and member pays $65.50; Couple combo
dues are $165. - CareSource pays $49 and members pay $116).

GUEST POLICY
Non-members who live locally may be guests at ATFC once a quarter with this exception:  in June, July, & August,
they may visit once a month.  Out of town guest visits are not limited.
In order to encourage play with members of other local clubs, the Board has recently voted that members of Rogue
Valley Swim & Tennis or Southern Oregon Tennis Club have unlimited guest privileges with a reduced guest fee of
$7 per visit (includes court fees). They must show proof of membership at either club.

FITNESS ORIENTATIONS
New fitness/combo members who pay initiation fees are entitled to a personal orientation with one of the trainers.
They have one month to arrange a free orientation. Good news if you are a fitness or combo member who has not
taken advantage of the great opportunity: a final chance for a free orientation.   Rox will be holding three group
orientations:  April 27th at 10:30; April 29th at 6 and May 2nd at 10:00. Sign up on the Community Board.  Info to
come soon about May tennis orientation

TAI CHI
We've had lots of requests for Tai Chi classes so are offering them during the month of April: Mondays at 7 a.m.
and Wednesdays at noon.  Tai-Chi, a mixture of martial art forms and yoga postures, helps synchronize upper and
lower body movements while engaging and grounding the mind's full capacity for stillness.  ALL ATFC members
(even tennis-only folks) are welcome to attend classes during the month of April.  This is a trial run for Tai-Chi at
ATFC, so if you are interested, be sure to attend!

TEMPORARY NEW CATEGORY FOR TENNIS MEMBERSHIP
The Board of Directors voted at its March meeting to introduce temporarily a new category of tennis membership.
The purpose is to encourage people in the local tennis community to join our club and to acknowledge the current
difficult economy.  From now through August, people may join as tennis members for $100 (single) and $150
(couple/family).  We are still encouraging new members to join as voting members at the buy-in rates of $250/$500,
but are also making the Associate Memberships available at $100/$150.   This is definitely a temporary opportunity,
so please bring this to the attention of any friends who might be considering joining. Thank you!!

Cici Brown has accepted the Board's request that she head the new ATFC Green Team to look for ways to make
our Club more environmentally and fiscally fit.  We will update her team's efforts in each newsletter.  Also, Alan is
vigorously working with various agencies towards replacing the court lights with a much more efficient system; more
about that soon.

AUCTION UPDATE
At the Auction, Alan and I had the good fortune to secure the services of Joyce Ward for a Feng Shui/Architectural
consultation.  During our meeting with her this week we found Joyce to be skilled and wise - with her design help we
should have a most gorgeous yard one of these days!  We would highly recommend anyone seeking Feng
Shui/Architectural assistance either inside or outside to call her at 541/482-3004.  If you’d like to comment on one
of your auction treasures, please call Jo.

ARNOLD SCHWARZENMANNERS
Dear Arnold:  Someone put a dent in my car while it was parked in the ATFC parking lot.  What do you think of that?
                                   Signed, Dinged Datsun

Dearest D.D.,
Well, firstly, I want to tell you that I find this very upsetting indeed.  It makes me want to hit someone.
But, given my important government position, I am not allowed to do that any more.  Still, I might be able to lend you
one of my Hummers and you could do serious damage to one of those Ashland hybrid cars quite easily.
Because he is more of a pacifist than I, I have consulted with Jerry Brown; the former monk suggested
that it would be wise to remind ATFC members to be more careful about parking.  Everyone loves the Club and
wants to race in to work out. It is swell to be so eager to become more fit (and to try to emulate me and become the
highly evolved human specimen that I am); but, people, let's be more careful and considerate out there!
                                    Fondly,   Arnold
